XdHacks Mini LA presents:

Future Hacks

With the 2021 NASA Mars Rover Mission, engineers and scientists have been able to gather more data on Mars, particularly on its environment. As the world races towards the day when the first humans are sent to Mars, transitioning from an Earth-like environment to Mars will be daunting. Virtual assets, however, could be vital in making this daunting process far more efficient, smooth, and manageable

Don 't see your question? Feel free to contact us !

Hacking? Isn 't that illegal?

In the hackathon community, a "hack "is defined as any unique and innovative project created within a certain time period.

I 've never touched coding, is this for me?

Absolutely no programming experience is needed! There will be various workshops to help you learn various beginner programming skills and get you started.

How does a virtual hackathon work?

Unlike a traditional hackathon, hackers will work primarily from home. There will be various online activities and workshops throughout the event period.

Is this a team or individual event?

We encourage you to work in teams of up to 4. However, feel free to work alone or in smaller teams. If you need help finding a team, feel free to message us!

What 's the cost?

This is a free event! When the event registration becomes available, just sign up through Hackhub.

Are there prizes?

Projects will be judged in several categories that will allow hackers to win various prizes! Details will be revealed during the event.

Who can attend?

Since this is a virtual hackathon, any high school student from anywhere in the world is welcome to attend! Since we are based in Los Angeles, California, please note that all times will be presented in PDT.

Do I need to present a fully working product?

As the event period is only 30 hours, you are not expected to present a fully polished product; a prototype is enough. Your project will be judged based on creativity and practicality.

Can I refine a project I’ve started some time ago for the event?

We kindly ask that your project be started and developed all during the event period to give everyone fair grounds for judging.
